Estimator/Project Manager - Division 10 Specialties

Kamco Supply Corp. of New England is seeking an entry level Division 10 estimator for our Queensbury location. This person must be a self-starter, detail oriented, motivated individual who preferably has prior experience and knowledge of estimating, project management or construction. Prior experience is not necessary though. Recent graduates are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities:

Prepare quantitative estimates and project budgets for material and installation by gathering information and performing take offs from digital construction plans, specifications and other project documents. Compare materials and labor requirements to find most cost effective solutions. Must submit bids and budgets by bid deadlines. Communicate with contractors, engineers, designers, architects and subcontractors to make any necessary changes to package costs. Calculate estimates for planning, scheduling and organization of work. Will collaborate with inside sales staff to coordinate work to meet given milestones and project completion dates. Will perform plan take offs, bid preparation and bidding to general contractors wand manage landed projects for all sections within Division 10 (i.e., lockers, wire partitions, toilet partitions and accessories, postal specialties, shelving, fire protection, visual display boards, etc.).

Requirements:

    Attention to detail.
     Be driven and motivated.
     Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects.
     Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel).
     Proficient in typing and keyboarding skills and use of computers.  Reasonable WPM requirement.
     Ability to learn on screen take-off program PlanSwift and company sales program Spruce.
     Working understanding of construction plans and project specifications.
     No experience necessary.  We will train.
     Some knowledge of commercial construction industry or knowledge of Division 10 products preferred.
     Excellent written and oral communication skills.
     Attend construction related events, meeting, and seminars pertaining to the scope of work.

Compensation:

     Full time position - Monday - Friday.
     Compensation based on experience.
     Benefits package including medical, dental and 401k.

BUSY MECHANICAL CONTRACTOR SEEKING A PROJECT MANAGER FOR
SULLIVAN CORECTIONAL FACILITY PROJECT

PROJECT MANAGER - SULLIVAN CORRECTIONAL FACILITY

S&O Construction Services, Inc. Mechanical Contractors that have been in business for 32 years in the Hudson Valley of New York are looking for a Project Manager to join our small business family and manage a project at Sullivan Correctional Facility.

 

Potential candidtates will have at least 3-5 years experience as a Construction Project Manager or a similar role in the Construction Industry; experience with the Office of General Services (OGS) projects would be a plus.  This is a permanent position with S&O Construction but the first 3-4 years will be managing our Sullivan Correctional Facility project.

 

Salary will be commensurate with experience.

 

Employee will report to the Senior Project Manger and will be overseeing our projects at Sullivan Correctional Faility, working closely with the field foreman and the Office of General Services (OGS).  Should be well versed in general office functions and have good communication skills with subordinates and superiors and exhibit the highest professionalism in the industry.

 

Performance Expectations

This Project Manager is expected to:
    Overall Construction Management of project
    Attend job and schedule meetings
    Maintain job correspondence
    Prepare job schedules, submittals, maintain job file and forward information to field foreman
    Send out copies fo plans, specs, schedules for vendor quotes
    Order Materials for jobs
    Pick up and deliver plans, specs, etc. as required
    Schedule and attend site visits with subcontractors
    Schedule and attend safety meetings/toolbox talks

 

Professional Development
 

Project Managers are expected to develop professionally by:
    Reading trade publications for the construction industry
    Representing the company and promoting its image by being friendly, courteous, and maintaining a
    professional appearance
    Increased awareness of the company's administrative policies
    Develop new and innovative procedures for work flow

  

Successful candidates will be requred to pass a Background Check and Drug Test and have a clean driving record  in order to be employed.
